Non-Return Valve
Overview
A swing check valve consists of a body, a cover, and a disc that is connected to a hinge. The disc swings away from the valve’s seat to allow flow in the forward direction, and returns back when upstream flow is stopped, to prevent backflow. The valve is equipped with either a (counter weight arm) or a (counter weight arm with hydraulic damper) to assist with closing the valve.

Operation & Installation
Operation
The GCF Swing Check Valve series 5300 prevents back flow of the media when pump shuts down or power failure. The flow from the pump opens the disc and raises the counter weight arm. When the pump shuts off, backflow pressure pushes the Disc to close against the Body Seat Ring.
Installation
GCF Swing check valve series 5300 may be installed in a horizontal or vertical position for sizes DN 80 up to DN300 according to client’s order. The other sizes from DN400 up to DN1500 installed in the horizontal position only. Before installation, remove foreign material such as weld spatter, oil, grease, and dirt from the pipeline. Prepare pipe ends and install valves in accordance with the pipe manufacturer’s instructions for the joint used.
